Calls for Participation
The e-Biosphere 09 Steering Committee hopes to make this conference a dynamic experience by inviting participation in all aspects of the event. Interested individuals and organizations are encouraged to get involved by:
- Joining electronic discussions on the Online Conference Community
- Holding a related side-event during the conference
- Submitting an abstract for a poster presentation
- Reserving exhibition space to showcase your software developments or commercial products
| Call for Participation: Online Conference Community (OCC) |
| The Conference organizers have created the Online Conference Community (OCC) for researchers and users of Biodiversity Informatics. The OCC is structured as approximately 15 electronic discussion forums so that researchers and users can discuss the future of Biodiversity Informatics. These online discussions can lead to development of Position Papers on how different subcommunities of researchers and users view the future of Biodiversity Informatics. These subcommunities will be able to meet during parallel break-out discussions during the Conference to finalize their Position Papers, which can then be submitted for possible publication in the Conference Proceedings Volume. |
| Call for Participation: Exhibition Opportunities |
| As there are too many outstanding activities to include in plenary sessions, Conference organizers will host a “Street Fair” as part of the meeting. The Street Fair will include three adjacent areas in the conference venue devoted to database and software demonstration booths, poster presentations of research, and commercial exhibits. Two sessions during the conference have been reserved to allow conference attendees to visit the Street Fair. |
Exhibition Applications now closed. |
| Call for Participation: Database/Software Demonstrations |
| Developers of not-for-profit databases and software related to Biodiversity Informatics have the opportunity to reserve booths for computer demonstrations. |
Demonstration Applications now closed. |
| Call for Participation: Poster Presentations |
| The Conference Programme Committee will evaluate submissions for poster abstracts and will award space in the poster presentation area on a competitive basis. Abstracts will be published on the Conference website and in a printed volume distributed at the Conference. There will be no charge to presenters for poster space. Up to 275 posters will be accepted. |
Abstract submission now closed. |
| Call for Participation: Side-Events |
| The Conference organizers call for expressions of interest from groups that would like to hold their own side-events during Session 12. A limited number of meeting rooms are available and the Conference organizers will help the sponsors of potential side-events to arrange meeting space. |
